The monastery is famous for the stone bearing the footprint of Dorjee Lingpa, permanently installed on the inner wall of the Mane Lhakang along with images of Manjushri, Vajrapani and Dorjee Lingpa carved on stone slabs. The monastery belongs to the Lepcha tribe and it hosts many relics in relation to the territorial war that took place between Sikkim and Bhutan. Adjacent to the monastery a stone gate is built to commemorate the territorial war.
