The lake is an important breeding ground for migratory bird species, including rare and endangered species. Tso Moriri hosts a far greater number of birds than does Pangong Tso. </p> <p>The northern end of this Tso Moriri Trip has an extensive area of wetland running along its eastern shore that provides an ideal breeding ground; hence the birds tend to gather there. This trip is convenient for visitors, who can easily spot the birds as they pass the north end of the lake on the way to Korzok village. </p> <p>As with Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri is a drainage basin, causing its water to be undrinkable. </p> <p>The maximum depth of the lake is 40 metres. It is 25 km long and 3 to 6 km wide and situated at an altitude of 4593 metres, making Korzok, located on the banks of the lake, one of the highest villages in the world. </p> </div> <div
